WEDNESDAY, JULY 15
🎣 Hooked on a new hobby? Start here. NJDEP Fish & Wildlife hosts a free fishing workshop from 5 to 8 p.m. at Wells Mills County Park in Waretown, with instruction, bait and equipment provided. No experience is needed, but registration is required. Participants ages 16 to 69 need a 2026 New Jersey fishing license, and anyone younger than 18 must attend with a participating adult.
🎡 The fair is back—and the funnel cake knows you’re coming. The Ocean County Fair runs July 15 through 19 at Robert J. Miller Air Park in Berkeley Township with rides, food, vendors, entertainment and 4-H animals and exhibits. Hours are 5 to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults; children younger than 10 enter free. Seniors are admitted free on Sunday!
🧚 Second star to the right, then straight on to Beach Haven. “Peter Pan” takes the stage at 6 p.m. at Surflight Theatre, 201 Engleside Ave., with a playful version of the classic story geared toward children ages 3 to 10. Call 609-492-9477 for tickets.
🎸 Bayville is turning up the volume. The Berkeley Township Sounds of Summer series brings the Chris Yoder Band to Veterans Park from 6 to 7 p.m., followed by Austin City Nights from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Admission and parking are free; bring a lawn chair.
🚘 Cruise downtown without leaving Washington Street. Cruisin’ Downtown fills downtown Toms River with classic cars, food and live music from 6 to 9 p.m. It’s free!
🌅 Sunset and live music—summer understood the assignment. Cornelia St. Band performs at 6:30 p.m. at Sunset Park in Harvey Cedars as part of the town’s free summer concert series.
🎆 Nothing says Wednesday like fireworks over the boardwalk. Seaside Heights lights up the sky at 9:30 p.m. Weather and wind get the final vote.
THURSDAY, JULY 16
🦞 Clambake season has entered the chat. Laurita Winery in New Egypt hosts its Summer Clambake beginning at 5 p.m., with seafood, corn on the cob, roasted potatoes and garlic bread. Tickets are $36 in advance and $40 at the door, if available.
🚗 Cars, trucks, motorcycles and plenty of parking-lot pride. Adventure Crossing USA in Jackson hosts Cruise Night from 5 to 8 p.m. with vehicles of all makes and years, live entertainment, food and drinks. Donations benefit The Mission, and the event is weather permitting.
🎤 The ’80s and ’90s are settling the score. Brick SummerFest presents “The 80’s vs. 90’s Show” at Windward Beach Park. The food court and beer and wine garden open around 5:30 p.m., with music at approximately 7 p.m. Admission and shuttle service from several Brick schools are free.
🎇 End the night with a boom. Jenkinson’s Boardwalk presents fireworks at approximately 9:30 p.m. in Point Pleasant Beach, weather and wind permitting.
FRIDAY, JULY 17
🎨 Watch the music play while the art takes shape. Music & Muse runs from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Toms River Artist Community, 40 Main St., pairing live musicians with an artist creating an original work in real time.
🎸 Buddy Holly and Roy Orbison are getting the Tuckerton treatment. Rave On! performs at 6:30 p.m. at the All Wars Memorial Ball Field, 310 Bay Ave. The concert is free; bring a blanket or chair.
🎭 Wouldn’t it be loverly? “My Fair Lady” begins at 7 p.m. at the Grunin Center for the Arts in Toms River, featuring favorites including “The Rain in Spain,” “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “Get Me to the Church on Time.”
🎶 Rock ’n’ roll in the garden sounds pretty good to us. The Kootz perform from 7 to 9 p.m. at the John F. Peto Studio Museum in Island Heights. Bring a chair and refreshments; donations are appreciated, and cash may come in handy for the 50/50 raffle.
✨ Fireworks are sitting this one out—Long Beach Township is going with drones. An America 250 live drone show begins at 9:30 p.m. at Bayview Park, 6805 Long Beach Blvd.
SATURDAY, JULY 18
🚲 History rolls in on two wheels. Charlie O’Toole presents the history of bicycles, the Tuckerton Wheelmen and local velodrome racing at 2 p.m. at the Giffordtown School House Museum in Tuckerton. Antique bicycles will be displayed, and his grandson will demonstrate a big-wheel bicycle. A $5 donation is encouraged; call 609-290-1149 to register.
🎸 The Kootz are doing double duty this weekend. The band performs at 6:30 p.m. at the Barnegat dock, 427 E. Bay Ave., as part of Barnegat Recreation’s free summer concert series.
SUNDAY, JULY 19
⚽ The biggest match gets the biggest screen. Shoretown Ballpark in Lakewood hosts an Ocean County World Cup watch party, with doors and youth soccer activities at 1 p.m. and the final match on the jumbotron at 3 p.m. Expect giveaways, Buster the BlueClaws mascot and plenty of cheering.
🎻 Support local history with a side of live music. Albert Music Hall in Waretown hosts a fundraiser for the Pinelands Cultural & Historical Society archive beginning at 2 p.m., with Redbird, Billy T Midnight & Friends, Billy Penn & The Inside Drivers, Josh Werner & Friends and a closing jam. Admission is $10 for adults and $1 for children 11 and younger, cash only.
🌙 Sunday night sounds better under the stars. Lavallette’s free summer concert series begins at 7 p.m.
TUESDAY, JULY 21
🚙 Beachwood is polishing the chrome. A classic car show runs from 4 to 8 p.m. at Beachwood Elementary School, 1001 Ocean Ave., with trophies, music, food, drinks and vehicles of all makes and models. The rain date is July 28.
🎠 Carnival season is not finished with you yet. St. Mary’s Nights of Summer Carnival runs July 21 through 26 from 6 to 10:30 p.m. nightly at 100 Bishop Lane in Manahawkin. Admission and parking are free, and advance ride wristbands save $5.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 22
🛍️ Sidewalk-sale season is your excuse to browse slowly. Lavallette’s Sidewalk Sale runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with local shops bringing the bargains outdoors.
🎤 Manchester brings the music to Harry Wright Lake. WJRZ begins at 5 p.m., followed by Julian & Dominique at 6 p.m. and Kickin’ Wing at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free; bring a lawn chair, and food will be available for purchase.
🧞 A whole new world is waiting in Beach Haven. Disney’s “Aladdin JR.” begins at 6 p.m. at Surflight Theatre with familiar characters, new songs, three wishes and plenty of Genie-sized energy.
🎪 Look up—the entertainment is overhead. Casino Pier presents aerialist Nikki Rush at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. near Pirate’s Hideaway in Seaside Heights. Shows continue July 23 and 24, including a Christmas in July performance Friday.
📚 BEYOND THE BOOKS
The Ocean County Library is serving up George Washington, gardening advice, ragtime, basket weaving, psychic readings and 250 years of American music.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 15
🇺🇸 George Washington has a few Jersey stories to tell. Historical interpreter David Emerson portrays the general in “George Washington Remembers New Jersey” at 2:30 p.m. at the Old Baptist Church, Route 9 and North Lakeshore Drive in Manahawkin. The free program explores Washington’s triumphs and setbacks across the state. Registration is required; call 609-698-3331.

🏆 Not bad for the new inn on the block. Hotel Albatross, a 27-room boutique hotel one block from the Ocean Grove beach, has been named the No. 1 inn in the continental United States in Travel + Leisure’s 2026 World’s Best Awards.
🏠 Victorian outside, modern getaway inside. The hotel opened in July 2025 in a restored 1881 building on Ocean Pathway, preserving historic details while adding updated interiors.

When the heat sends you indoors, here’s what’s new on television and streaming.
🎬 Fashion gets the Sofia Coppola treatment. “Marc by Sofia” arrives Thursday, July 16, on HBO Max, following designer Marc Jacobs as he prepares a new collection. It is Coppola’s first documentary.
⛳ He was the world’s best golfer in 2004—and would like everyone to stop mentioning the year. Will Ferrell stars in “The Hawk” on Netflix as an aging golfer determined to win one final major.
🚗 A car crash leads somewhere unexpected. “Miroirs No. 3,” arriving Friday on Mubi, follows a piano student recovering in the country home of a woman who lives near the accident scene.
💃 The mirrorball is searching for fresh talent. Robert Irwin hosts Hulu’s “The Next Pro,” where 12 dancers compete for a professional spot on “Dancing with the Stars.”
🎟️ Winning the lottery should not be this complicated. Anya Taylor-Joy stars in Apple TV’s “Lucky” as a con artist with a winning ticket she cannot cash while the authorities and her crime boss close in.
🌾 Half-Pint rides again. Netflix’s new “Little House on the Prairie” follows the Ingalls family as they settle in Kansas and face the challenges of frontier life.
🍀 Hell’s Kitchen was not always about celebrity chefs. J.K. Simmons stars in MGM+ drama “The Westies,” about the Irish gang that controlled the Manhattan neighborhood in the early 1980s.

🎂 First, a hometown birthday shoutout. Happy 79th birthday to Margaret P. of Bay Head! We hope the week brings cake, good company and absolutely no pressure to act your age!
🎤 July 15 has range. Soul singer Millie Jackson turns 82, Linda Ronstadt turns 80, Ramones drummer Marky Ramone turns 74, model Kim Alexis and “Eight Is Enough” actor Willie Aames both turn 66, and Brigitte Nielsen turns 63.
🎥 July 16 brings movie nostalgia and maximum comedy. “Fast Times at Ridgemont High” and “Gremlins” star Phoebe Cates turns 63, while “Elf” and “Anchorman” star Will Ferrell turns 59.
🚘 July 17 belongs to The Hoff. David Hasselhoff, best known for “Knight Rider” and “Baywatch,” turns 74. He talked to a car, ran on the beach in slow motion and made both seem perfectly reasonable. Honestly, that deserves an extra slice of cake!
