Official Holiday Party Rules from Jersey Seniors
(Because we’ve been doing this a long time — and we’ve got rules.)
No arriving early. We want to see you, but not before the cheese is plated and the host has pants on.
Don’t come empty-handed. Cookies, cannoli, wine, or a Wawa gift card — we’re not picky. But show up with nothing? Fuhgeddaboudit.
No Parkway traffic excuses. You had GPS and NJ 101.5. Plan better.
If you didn’t bring it, don’t critique it. That green Jello salad has feelings.
Pants with buttons are optional. Stretchy waistbands encouraged. Bonus points for festive sweaters with flashing lights.
If you start a political debate, you’re on dish duty. All of it. Even the Tupperware.
Yes, we know you made it from scratch. Say it once, then let the lasagna speak for itself.
The host controls the playlist. No Mariah on loop. No “Grandma Got Run Over by a Reindeer” during dinner.
Don’t block the dessert table with stories about your knee replacement. Be strategic and save that gem for when cleanup starts in the kitchen.
Don’t show up with a surprise plus-one — unless they bring wine, wit, and the willingness to sit between feuding relatives. Then it’s: Welcome to the family!
Early bird gets the recliner — just toss your sweater on it and consider it reserved.
If you fall asleep mid-party, we won’t judge. But we will decorate you. Probably with tinsel.
Break just one of these rules and you’re going home with the fruitcake. 😉
🎬 That’s a wrap!
